Artist Statement

My works are an infantile transition into the truth of a fragmented, yet conspicuously designed world of spectacled desires. Through forms of violence and satire I like to indicate the enigmatic character of nature and tension brought about by the theory of capitalism and quest for survival in neo-urban existence.

My narrative style of work also portrays certain historical moments resulting from the power-oriented landscape of urbanization. For me, such narrations get conceived when I identify a floating space of ambiguity from the visible directness of social experience or implicit social cues as well. This subsequent shift of experience into ambiguity incorporates and adjoins the possible narration of psychological stories in my thoughts. The meaningful concerns about social space in relation with power structure both in traditions, and that in capitalist claims opens a sense of nonconformity to one’s aesthetical experience, and that sense of retrospective combined with ‘meaninglessness’ gives me a surface of communication.

My imagery can be inspired from a moment that I encounter early morning, like when I see a person who catches fish from the village river; or it can be a moment of contemplation on a summer evening, when I follow the ancient narrow path towards a hill side temple. Reflective of the man-animal-nature interface and society, my works underline the sources of my aesthetic experiences in opposition to the rationality of history.
