Artist Bio

Born in 22 October 1988 in Mysore, Karnataka, Dayananda completed his post diploma in painting from College of Fine Arts Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath in 2015 . He did his bachelors in applied art from Sri Kalanikethana School of Art, Mysore in 2011. His solo exhibition The First Harvest, was in Art Houz, Bengaluru in 2016. Dayananda has participated in numerous group exhibitions, camps and workshops including 12 Days of Christmas, Thompson Spare Art, United Kingdom, 2018; ID-Entity, Art Pilgrim Live, Gurugram, Haryana, 2018; “National Art Festival”, National Lalit Kala Akademy & Sikkim Akademy, Gangtok, 2017 and more. His was awarded the Arnawaz Vasudev Charities Scholarship in 2015.

Artist Statement

Born and brought up on a farm land, Dayananda is well versed with the life of a farmer in our country. His works recall his childhood and his family vocation of farming. With each passing day he realized the disconnect humans are facing with nature. He employs his works as his mode of expression and wishes to enunciate the lost history of our agrarian society and revive the fading traditions and simplicity associated with it.
