Artist Statement

Environmental problems are the most compelling of all concerns gripping the world today. This dilemma is more apparent in developing countries which bear the brunt of developed nations unscrupulous use of natural resources and their emission of all types of pollution. The cohabitation and adjustment with these problems creates a complex lifestyle and this is the major concern in my works.

Multinational companies and the consumer culture have made a great impact on the urban as well as rural landscape. In order to make our lives comfortable we end up mindlessly exploiting the natural resources, most of which are perishable.

My work focuses on the constant construction, [de]construction and [re]-construction of the environment and the ever changing negotiations in the urban structure.
