Darshini Dalwadi Patel (b. 1988, Vadodara) is a textile-based artist and designer from Vadodara, India. She obtained her Master of Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, in 2014, and her Bachelor of Visual Arts in Applied Art from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in 2009.
Her practice looks at the intersections of observation, material transformation, and sustainable making. Working primarily with reclaimed fibres, natural dyes, and layered textile forms, she treats cloth as a site of enquiry that records the passage of time and the changing states of the natural world. Her recent body of work, inspired by the form of the atoll, translates processes of erosion, renewal, and continuity into textile surfaces that reflect ecological and emotional cycles of change.
Darshini has been an artist-in-residence at Space Studio (Baroda, 2025). Her works have been exhibited in Anthology on the Annexe (Amdavad ni Gufa, Ahmedabad, 2025) and in collaborations with Art and Folies (France). She continues to work as a textile designer with various Indian and international firms, while developing an independent studio practice informed by sustainability and craft-based research.
