The Geranium symbolises happiness, good health, good wishes and friendship. However, in certain situations it can also symbolise envy, deceit and folly. Most of these negative connotations were attributed throughout the Victorian era. Because of the flower’s simple and light appearance it became a symbol of foolishness and stupidity.
