Emami Art, in collaboration with Anant Art, presents Room Full of Mirrors, a series of works by artist Probir Gupta. This is Probir’s major outing in his hometown Kolkata. The exhibition will show new paintings and installations and some critical earlier pieces. Probir dispenses with linear discourse and a representational approach, capturing the profound sense of terror, anomie, and disquiet in a complex, highly experimental, and contemporary language. Through the seductive richness of paint and imagery, his works ensnare the viewers and compel them to communicate with them viscerally. All the works in this exhibition mirror the surrounding world- a world caught in a whirlwind of conflict, tension and unrest.
