This work is about a short trip to a place I was visiting for the first time ever- what are the first things which came back to me? You close your eyes when you're back from the trip and you're back in your home/studio, what are elements that make up the city in your mind? I thought (back) to Kochi, and tried to make a composition of these most recalled aspects- an exercise to bring a visual about, translate these wispy, easily escaping feelings; some are visuals but some are sounds, movements, some are stand-ins but everything needs to turn into a visual (a way to pin things down) at that moment. It was a self prescribed exercise in composing a visual-in-translation - a sketch of Kochi.
